This year has been tumultuous to say the least with LAYOFFS 2023 headlining the TECH INDUSTRY; especially, within ONLINE GAMING. More than 6,100 GAME DEVS have been dismissed through October. Iconic game studio, BUNGIE, is the latest from 80+ Studios in 2023 to have laid off staff - reports claim 8% of employees were fired across multiple disciplines.
This trend has impacted Gamers and Consumers alike quite negatively, where "trust" and even wanting to play certain titles or invest their time or money is waning exponentially - even leading some to believe the GAMING INDUSTRY IS DYING.
Further, THE FINAL SHAPE expansion and MARATHON release have also been delayed to June 2024 and sometime in 2025, respectively, due to recent layoffs and other factors.
This week's show is focused on what has happened at Bungie, and DESTINY 2 specifically, as well as insights into what is occurring throughout the GAMING INDUSTRY and the choices made by GAMING CORPORATIONS.
